Uros Balov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, on 10 January had a brief meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Iraq, General Muhammad Jawad Khadum.

During conversation, Ambassador Balov emphasised importance of bilateral relations and stressed traditionally good political relations, without any open issue, for more than 60 years of continuous diplomatic relations between the two countries. He has congaratulated the Secretary General of the MoD on an important victory against ISIL terrorist organisation, which the Republic of Iraq has achieved with help of the International Coalition for the fight against terrorism. General Muhammad Jawad Khadum expressed thankfulness to the Republic of Serbia for its support in fight against ISIL, and especially in the area of Iraqi Army medical units training.
