Printer Friendly Version Visit to Serbian citizens in the Imam Ali Base in Nasiriyah @ 25 January 2019 01:21 PM

The Ambassador, Uroš Balov and First secretary Ms. Emilija Marinkov, visited on 13 January, the Military Base Imam Ali in Nasiriyah, where fifteen Serbian citizens live and work. They are engaged on maintaining "Lasta" aircrafts, which are being used for the Republic of Iraq Air Force pilots.


Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Iraq has secured a military plane for transport of the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, which has been warmly welcomed in the Base. General Muhaned Ghaib Muhammed, the Dean of the Military Airforce Academy, was the host of the visit. General praised the work of Serbian workers, but also the quality of "Lasta" , stressing out that the Ministry of Defence will suggest continuation of cooperation.
Ambassador Balov thanked the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Iraq and Iraqi Airforce on excellent organisation of the visit, as well as to the Academy Dean, General Muhaned Ghaib Muhammed, on excellent treatment of our citizens.


On this occasion there was a small celebration of the so-called Serbian New Year.
